Abstract

Nonlinear cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) mirrors made of nonabsorbing CLCs were used as laser resonator end mirrors of cw Nd:YAG lasers in Refs. 1-3, where adaptive change of CLC mirror curvature in Gaussian beams with TEMoo mode operation up to 3 W output power without any additional apertures inside the resonator,3 was first observed.
