Abstract

High efficiency holographic grating filters in LiNbO3 have been demonstrated for monochromatic reflection filters in the 1.5 μm telecommunications band. These filters have a variety of wavelength multiplexing and demultiplexing applications, where reliable operation over a period of at least 20 years is a key requirement To take advantage of reduced grating decay rates from electronic screening, these gratings are continuously illuminated during operation.2
