Abstract

Fiber-coupled laser diodes, with wavelengths around 800 nm, and with powers in excess of 10 W guided in multimode fiber have become commerically available. We demonstrate a simple pump scheme that efficiently couples the pump radiation from the fiber of such diodes into a laser crystal.
