Abstract

We report a study of the coherence of the emission of gain-guided AlGaAs/GaAs vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers used in free-space holographic interconnects.1 We performed both temporal-and spatial-coherence measurements on devices with active-area diameters of 8 and 15 µm for cw and pulsed excitation conditions.
