Nonlinear semiconductor mirrors at 1.5 µm with applications to laser mode locking

Abstract

We discuss the growth, characterization, and operation of an all-semiconductor Fabry-Perot étalon with intensity-dependent reflectivity. The nonlinear étalons have been designed to be compatible with photonic devices operating near 1.5 µm.
