Abstract
Recently, compact commercial dye-doped polymeric lasers1 and light-emitting waveguides2 have been reported. In this paper we report the results of a study of light emission in dye-doped poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) waveguides on an SiO2/Si substrate transversally pumped with Q-switched-frequency-doubled Nd:YAG and cw Ar+ lasers.
