Abstract

In second-harmonic generation (SHG), the residual fundamental beam acquires phase shifts due to cascaded χ⁽²⁾ processes in the crystal the presence of a wave-vector mismatch (ΔK≠ 0).^1,2 Recent Z-scan experiments and numerical models have confirmed these effects in KTP.² One might then expect similar optical-phase distortions in the corresponding second harmonic, but simple theoretical models predicted none.¹
