Neodymium-laser with SBS phase conjugation for high beam quality

Abstract

Nd lasers with good beam quality obtained by phase-conjugating SBS mirrors were realized in many cases as double-pass master-oscillator power amplifiers (MOPAs) (see, e.g., Refs. 1-3). MOPAs have been described by using Nd:YAG slab geometries in multipass arrangements (see, e.g., Refs. 1 and 2) or simple single-rod set-ups.3 With these systems average output powers of about 100 W were reported.
