Abstract
Laser-induced phase-change phenomena at a liquid-solid interface are utilized in a variety of technical applications, such as steam laser cleaning1, laser-shock-wave lithotripsy,2 and laser-assisted liquid-film etching.3 Recently, the dynamics of laser-induced bubbles at a liquid-solid interface have been studied in the submicrosecond regime by using the optical reflectance measurements and a piezoelectric transducer.4 Also, the dynamics of localized corrosion at a metal surface have been studied by the combination of transient current measurements and a quartz-crystal microbalance.5
