Abstract

Semiconductor lasers based on the wideband-gap, II-VI and nitride compounds are interesting because they emit in the blue-green and possibly in the ultraviolet wavelength regions. Since these lasers are in the early developmental stage, the knowledge of physical mechanisms governing gain medium behavior is uncertain.
