Abstract
In a double-phase conjugate mirror (DPCM),1 two mutually incoherent pump beams are incident on opposite faces of a photorefractive crystal. A common grating diffracts each of them into the complex conjugate of the other one. This device is particularly attractive for the realization of free space bidirectional optical links. Photorefractive semiconductors have to be used at telecommunication wavelengths. Among them, InP:Fe presents a high two-wavemixing gain2 and is therefore particularly interesting.
