Abstract

Small-signal analysis. The model used in this paper is based on the energy conservation equation in the active medium1 and the rate equations for both the unconfined carrier local density and the local density of carriers into the wells.2 A linearisation of the equations allows the derivation of the small-signal intensity modulation response with a cut-off frequency given.
