Abstract

In an ordinary operation, a symmetrical selfelectro-optic effect device (S-SEED) shows optical bistability. Up to now, there have been a few studies on their optical analog operation,1-2 and the method of operation has been based on negative feed-back in a SEED with a constant current source. In this letter we propose a new method of analog operation for S-SEED systems and demonstrate the validity of the proposed method using a SEED based on Wannier- Stark localization3 (WSL-SEED).
