Abstract

Rapidly reconfigurable optical time delay switches are essential components in a variety of applications. Optical signal processing systems require some form of variable, temporary optical memory. Packet switching networks (such as ATM) require variable delays for queuing and packet retiming. A radar beamformer based on optical time delay has recently been described.1
