Abstract

Previously we have published results on a number of ultrafast high throughput alloptical switching devices in GaAlAs waveguide geometries, at photon energies below half the band gap.1,2 Here we present experimental results of an integrated alloptical switch based on the zero-gap nonlinear directional coupler and Y-junction (zero-gap NLDC) below half the band gap of GaAlAs semiconductors (at 1.55 µm spectral region).
