Abstract

Most lasers have usually used the Fabry- Perot interferometer (FPI) type resonator1 consisting of two mirrors facing each other. In high power gas lasers such as CO2 and CO lasers, a diffraction grating is also extensively used to tune out its oscillation line.2 In this paper we shall propose a new scheme of CO2 laser with the Michelson interferometer (MI) type resonator,3 and experimentally demonstrate its oscillation characteristics especially with emphasizing on line-selection)
