Abstract

Temperature fluctuations in birefringent fibers is a severe problem encountered in the applications to optical sensors, components and devices. There have been many attempts to reduce the temperature fluctuations in birefringent fibers, such as suitable coating,1 stress balance2 and extrinsic configurations.3 Also the temperature sensitivity can be reduced by annealing.4
