Abstract

Nd:laser with good beam quality via phase conjugating SBS-mirrors can be realized as oscillators1 and for higher output powers as master oscillator double-pass amplifier (MOPAs). MOPAs were described using Nd:YAG slab geometries in multi-pass arrangements [e.g. 2]. With these setups average output powers of more than 100 W were reported2,3 with pulse energies in the range of 1 to 25 J.
