Abstract
The noise characteristics of semiconductor lasers, such as the relative intensity noise (RIN) and the spectral linewidth, are known to be extremely sensitive to the optical feedback occurring when a portion of the laser output is fed back into the laser cavity after being reflected from an external reflecting surface. The effect of conventional optical feedback on semiconductor-laser noise has been extensively studied.1 Recently attention has focused on the case in which optical feedback occurs as a result of reflection from a phase-conjugate mirror (PCM).2-4
