Abstract
Analog optical transmission and distribution systems at 1.55-µm wavelength have become more attractive, because of the excellent performances of erbium-doped fiber amplifiers.1 The lasers required for analog transmission over standard single-mode optical fibers must have very linear characteristics with simultaneously low chirp to prevent harmonic and intennodulation distortions.2
