Abstract

We import here on the generation of tunable pulses through parametric conversion of a 200 fs pulse at 600 nm delivered by an amplified dye laser. Different crystals and combinations have been tested in the travelling wave configuration adopted. The points addressed in our investigation include tuning range, pump energy Ep, conversion efficiency, puise duration, τ and, in particular, the time-bandwidth product τΔf, The set-up (Fig. 1) is the same as developed in Vilnius University for 1 ps pulses. The two stages, "seed generator" and "amplifier," were usually driven splitting Ep in a 1:3 ratio.
