Polarization insensitive homodyne detection with all-optical processing based on the photorefractive effect

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We present a theoretical and experimental analysis of a unique coherent homodyne phase shift keyed system which utilizes the photorefractive effect in barium titanate to implementa polarization independent coherent detection system.
