Abstract

Electro-optic sampling has proven to be a high temporal resolution, noninvasive technique for characterizing high speed electronic devices. Gain switched distributed feedback laser diodes (DFB-LD) pulse sources have the advantage of variable repetition rates; they are compact, low maintenance, and low noise at mechanical chopper frequencies when compared to mode-locked dye lasers.
