Abstract

Ultrashort optical pulse generation by modulation methods becomes current interest because of the controllability and the reliability. It is a promising light source in many applications such as soli ton communication and so on. The pulse energy, however, decreases according to the pulse shortening in the case of ordinary intensity modulators.
