Abstract

The optimum way to design a laser system with controllable parameters of output radiation to use a master laser, usually a cw master laser. Such a laser oscillates only slightly above the threshold and therefore is sensitive to any kind of loss in its cavity. To control efficiently tire mode spectrum of oscillation one must find a selector with minimum (preferably zero) losses for high quality-modes. One of the simplest and most efficient selectors of this type is the absorbing thin-film selector.1
