Abstract
Gain-coupled distributed feedback lasers (GC-DFB) laave attracted much attention in recent years.1,2 In this paper, complex coupling (index and gain) within a DFB structure (CC-DFB) is investigated. The important results to be demonstrated illustrate the potential for significant improvements in the AM response of CC-DFBs provided that the gain and index coefficients are in anti-phase.
