Abstract

Diode pumping a regenerative amplifier is a compact and efficient means of generating high-peak power pulses. Furthermore, a variety of diode-pumped mode-locked oscillators have been described that are suitable seed lasers for an amplifier. A Nd:glass oscillator-amplifier system producing 100-kW pulses was described recently.1 The Nd:YLF system discussed here generates stable 8-mW pulses and leads to efficient nonlinear processes.
