Abstract
Optical parametric oscillation (ОТО) using nonlinear crystals is attractive for generating picosecond and femtosecond pulses broadly tunable in the infrared (possibly from 1-10 µm). In particular, Edelstein et al.,1 have recently demonstrated a high-repetition rate (100 MHz) OPO, pumped intracavity of a colliding- pulse mode-locked dye laser, which produces tunable femtosecond pulses with an average power up to 5 mW.
