Abstract
Broad-area traveling-wave semiconductor amplifiers have shown considerable promise as efficient sources for generating diffraction-limited emission in the multiwatt power range,1 Best results were obtained by injecting the input beam a few degrees off-normal incidence. To date however, no comprehensive explanation of the angular dependence of the output has been put forward.
