Abstract

In this work we demonstrate single quantum well (SQW) lnGaAs/GaAs Fabry-Perot lasers with very low relative intensity noise (RIN) and excellent spectral purity, properties that are desirable for AM signal transmission, interferometric sensing uses, and systems employing coherent detection. we also examine the modal properties associated with these low-noise lasers.
