Abstract

Self-pumped phase-conjugate mirrors (PCM) using backward stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) are one of the candidates for the high peak power and high average power solid-state lasers with distortion-free beams. In a previous report, we presented operating characteristics of Nd3-:GGG slab laser attached to an sbs cell of liquid materials. The reflectivity of the PCM was gradually decreased by increasing the repetition rate because of the turbulence in the liquid.
