Abstract

This paper deals with a high power zigzag slab Nd:YAG laser. The size of Nd:YAG slab is 152×25×10 mm3, which is pumped by four krypton flashlamps from both sides. Each flashlamp has an i.d. of 13 mm and an arc length of 125 mm. The samarium filters on both sides protect the slab from the UV pump light depleting the thermal load and form a flow path of cooling water.
