Recently, the dual of the Blumlein line (DBL), a new, inductive-energy storage, pulsed-power system, has been proposed.1 The DBL, like the current-charged transmission line (CCTL), can produce a high-power square output pulse. The DBL is unique in that it can produce an output-pulse power equal to twice that of a CCTL under the same charging current. In this paper, we report the experimental results of pulse generation by a DBL with a photoconductive semiconductor switch (PCSS). The key element in generating a high-power square pulse in a DBL is a fast PCSS.
