Abstract
Laser diode bars can be used as efficient pump sources for continuous-wave (CW), solid-state lasers operating in the TEM00 mode. We have shown previously that, using the tightly folded resonator (TRF) design, optical slope efficiencies of greater- than 40% and CW output powers of several watts can be achieved readily.1 In this paper we demonstrate that the TFR design can be scaled to an output power of 10 W using multiple diode bars.
