Abstract

We reported the demonstration of an "all-in-one"1 (mode-locked, Q-switched, and cavity dumped) diode-array side-pumped Nd:YAG solid state laser capable of producing psec pulses at 20 Hz. The cylindrical laser rod was transversely pumped using two 1 cm long by 5 bat GaAlAs arrays. Output energies of 1.0 mJ were obtained for a single mode-locked pulse.
