Radiation transport in polymer photoablation

Abstract

Laser ablation of organic materials has developed into a technology with considerable potential for important applications in materials processing and medicine.1 The fundamental mechanisms, however, that influence this process are still poorly understood. We have shown that a description of the radiative transport at high intensities accounts for ail quantifiable phenomena that have been observed with UV laser ablation of organic materials.2
