Abstract

The development of the nonplanar ring oscillator1 for injection seeding has allowed reliable single-mode operation of Q- switched Nd-YAG lasers. Because of the narrow linewidth and elimination of rapid intensity fluctuations due to mode competition, single-mode Nd:YAG lasers have advantages for many applications.
