Abstract

Organic nonlinear optical materials are expected in view of the efficient frequency conversion and/or modulation of light. With respect to second-order nonlinearity, the nonlinearity of organic molecules or the hyperpolarizability and alignment of the molecules in the crystal play an important role in constituting the nonlinear optical coefficients of the crystal.
