Experimental study of fifth harmonic conversion of picosecond laser pulses in β-BaB2O4 crystals

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Since UV picosecond laser pulses are a useful tool for studying a variety of high speed physical and chemical phenomena, people have been trying to find effective ways to obtain them. One of these may be the second harmonic generation and sum frequency mixing in various nonlinear crystals. However, some nonlinear crystals do not extend this technique to the UV spectral range.
