Abstract

Diode laser pumping has been established as an approach for developing efficient and compact solid state lasers. We report self-starting additive pulse mode-locking using a coupling nonlinear cavity in a diode pumped Nd:YAG laser. The laser produces ~1.7-ps pulse durations with an average output power of 25 mW without an active gain or loss modulation.
