Extensive data on the laser characteristics of Ho: Tm: Cr: YAG; Ho: Tm: Cr: YAG; and a virtually new material, tM: Cr: YAG, as a function of temperature are reported. Temperature-dependent effects are explained by correlating slope efficiency and threshold with physically meaningful parameters.
