Abstract

The XeF (C→A) laser is an efficient high power source of broadly tunable blue-green radiation. Previous experimental studies at Rice University using a gain volume of 0.02 liters pumped by a Pulserad electron-beam machine have demonstrated a specific output energy of 1.5 J/liter, a continuous tuning range extending from 460 to 510 nm, and an intrinsic efficiency of more than 1 %.1
