Abstract
The recombination and fluorescence dynamics of excited carriers in semiconductor-doped glasses are important for their uses in optical switching and processing. Conflicting results were reported in the literature. Numbers ranging from 30 ps to 10 ns have been reported.1,2 It is generally believed that the fluorescence lifetime of these crystallites depends on pumping intensity. We found that the photoluminescence spectrum was strongly dependent on the pumping level. These spectral changes could be correlated to the different lifetime results.
