Abstract
The first clinical uses of fiber-optic laser acupuncture (LAP) for cancer pain relief,1 to reduce cigarette smoking, and to promote nicotine abstinence2 were performed at our Institute. These were preceded by an animal experiment series in 1979 for studying the anticanoerogenic action of low-energy He–Ne laser radiation as well as the fiber-optic LAP influence on the tumor metastasizing process. In this study pain therapy in osteoarthrosis patients was performed by a medical fiber-optic laser ultrasonic acupuncture system (MFLUAS) that we designed and illustrated in Fig. 1.
