Abstract

The aim of the work reported here was to investigate the possibility of exploiting the advantages of fiber optical techniques in a liquid leak detection system. An all-fiber system with remote sensor accessing is particularly attractive in hazardous environments, especially where electrical sparks (which could be generated by conventional sensors) may produce explosions.
