Abstract
Autofluorescence of the tissues is often used to denote the fluorescence emitted by the tissues when laser excited without the addition of hematoporphyrin or other photosensitizers. Studies of the autofluorescence spectra of normal and cancerous human tissues excited by lasers are of considerable significance in cancer research and diagnosis because useful biological and clinical information can be obtained.
