Abstract
Image relaying is used in virtually all high-power and/or high-energy Nd:glass laser systems to control beam transverse profile. In systems with uniform transverse gain/loss profiles, the chain input image is the same as the desired output image. In systems with nonuniform transverse gain or loss profiles the input image must compensate for these profiles.
