Abstract

The upgraded Octal laser facility is a Nd:glass laser system at Limeil, France. It is designed to create high-energy light beams in the nanosecond range to irradiate microscopic fusion targets and compress them to extremely high densities. Realization of Octal 82 required development of new optical and electronic alignment systems. The alignment task has been divided into two stages: first, we use a refracting telescope to align the common-path preamplifying line, then a reflecting telescope to align the eight individual power chains and the splitter array.
