Abstract
Integrated optics has been proposed as the privileged technology to mass produce low-cost medium-performance fiber-optic gyroscopes. Several technological barriers, however, have been underestimated, and very few working models have been reported so far. The solutions implemented in our integrated fiber-optics gyroscope prototype will be discussed and its test results reported. An updated discussion of the competing technologies will be presented.
