Abstract

Laser diode (LD) couplers employing an optical isolator are indispensable devices for developing future optical systems, e.g., gigabit digital transmission systems and coherent transmission systems. By using a YIG sphere, an efficient nonreciprocal optical circuit was designed for an LD-to- single-mode fiber coupler.
